Katie's Cocobolo\spruce 00 12 fret steel string:

November 29th 2015

I had a little bit of time to make progress. This guitar is being build for a niece (I have 24 nieces and nephews). I send them a link to Depaule Supply and have them select fret board markers. Some have been easier than others. I had to go to a 1/64" end mill to route for the tails and the trunks of the smallest markers.

I still have to cut out and install my hawk and moon logo and glue on the fret board but I am getting close.

I have the fret board glued on and I cut out and installed my hawk in the moon logo. When I was digging through my pearl stash I found a mostly white gold MOP large enough for my moon. I put the gold on the bottom of the moon and it washed to white toward the top. The gold really helps tie it into the the gold mop elephants. After inlaying the elephants I really like my 1" round logo allowing the use of a drill bit.

Here are a few pictures along the way.

Today I will finish spraying the body with EM6000 WB lacquer. I padded on Royal-Lac on the neck.
